Community Pot Project 2019/20: The Diversity Trust

At the beginning of 2020 we invited organisations across B&NES to apply for our Community Pot fund. The Diversity Trust received funding to improve representation of LGBT+ people across B&NES through engagement work and an 'Out in B&NES' booklet.

The projects focus was on the health and wellbeing of LGBT+ people living, working or studying in Bath & North East Somerset; as well as on the creation of a digital and print asset.

The Diversity Trust took an asset-based approach; as well as using community-based research methods including facilitating focus groups and interviews and a short snap survey to evaluate the project outputs.

They also provided community representation through the B&NES Hate Crime & Community Cohesion Partnership. The partnership includes representatives from B&NES Council, Housing the Police and other voluntary and community sector (VCSE) organisations.
