Integrated Care Alliance (ICA)

•    The Care Forum (TCF) is proud to represent the voices of the public in the developments of health alliances in Bath and North East Somerset
•    Leadership from TCF spent two days with other system leaders building on already positive relationships and supported a person centred approach to new developments
•    We continue to champion the voice of individuals involved with accessing health and care

Over the Past 18 months TCF through our Healthwatch Bath and North East Somerset contract, have been supporting the development of systems and approaches that will define how health and care is delivered from April next year (2022). We have been proud to represent the voice of our communities in this process, ensuring that systems are built around people.

Speaking of the ICA away day, Kevin Peltonen-Messenger, Chief Executive, The Care Forum, said,

“TCF is committed to building more socially inclusive communities so being able to speak at the ICA away day about why people are so important in this process was an exciting opportunity to raise the voice of our population. In the past year we have engaged, through different sources with 9,755 people. And we want to reach more so that our systems and services continue to learn from the experience of individuals.

So many people from our health and care sector have worked tirelessly during the pandemic, some of them I had the pleasure of spending time with last week. It’s clear there is a desire to really understand the needs of our communities. Placing lived experience at the heart of this process ensures that systems are accountable and processes/services reflect need. I am very proud to represent Healthwatch in these meetings and feel really positive about how, alongside our key partners, we can move into a new system with people at its heart”.
