Participation opportunity - How inclusive is community based social care for older LGB people?

Liz Wands-Murray, the Ph.D. researcher at the University of York, is asking for help with a research project on the accessibility of community-based social care services, groups, and activities for older (50+) lesbian, gay, and bisexual persons.

The purpose of the research is to understand the experiences of people who access groups or services and those who work or volunteer in them through informal interviews and a focus group.

To take part, you will need to be;

  •  Aged 50+  and identify as lesbian, gay, or bisexual
  • Use or have used community-based services, groups, or organisations
  • Or work or volunteer in community-based services, groups, or organisations

The research will be performed through interviews and focus groups.

The research is funded through the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) School for Social Care Research (SSCR). Approval to undertake the research has been provided by the University of York Social Policy & Social Work Ethics Committee.
