B&NES Christmas and New Year Opening Times: Dentists, Opticians & Pharmacy
Opening times for local pharmacies, opticians and dentists in B&NES will be slightly different over the Christmas holiday break, so make sure you know where you can go to get the support you need.
There will be increased winter pressure on A&E so please try to only go here in case of genuine emergency. One way to do this is to make sure you collect your December prescriptions as early as possible so you don't run the risk of running out of your medication.
We have provided more information about this below.
Pharmacy
Over the holiday period (23 December 2019 – 3 January 2020) pharmacies will be open as normal, apart from:
- Wednesday 25 December 2019
- Thursday 26 December 2019
- Wednesday 1 January 2020
Your GP practice will be working closely with its local pharmacy and can arrange early collection for repeat prescriptions. Make sure you speak to the practice about arranging this.
Optician
Please speak to your usual optician or call NHS 111.
Dentist
You should contact the practice that you normally go to if you have any problems. If your practice is closed an answer machine will provide details about how to contact an on-call dentist for urgent treatment.
